Genesis is the first book of the Torah.

"In the beginning"... The book of Genesis begins at the beginning and tells the story of the creation of the world. It goes on to tell the story of the start of Judaism.

Genesis is the first book of the Torah. The Hebrew name for this book is Bereshit (בְּרֵאשִׁית) meaning "in the beginning".
